Recently, 15 members of the Epworth Fire Department completed a course in Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS). This 16 hour, certified course is designed to help EMT's and Paramedics advance their knowledge of care for trauma patients. Instructors for the course were, Lieutenant Jeff Sanderfield of the Dubuque Fire Department, Sandy Neyen, PS from Bi-County Ambulance and Rhonda Healy, EMT-P from the Key West Fire Department.
