At approximately 1:06 pm on Friday, April 14th, 2023, the Epworth Fire Department was paged out by Dubuque County Dispatch for a tractor on fire in a field. The tractor was located just south of Pilot Grove Road on Koopman Road. Upon arrival EFD encountered a tractor fully engulfed with a field rake attached to it. Epworth Fire was able to extinguish the fire and stop the fire from spreading into neighboring fields with the help from the landowners field disc and EFD personnel. The tractor is considered a total loss and the field rake suffered minimal damage. The Dubuque County Sheriff's Office helped control the scene.
