On Monday February 22nd members of the Epworth Fire Department received training on the new ambulance Stryker Power Load and Cot system. This allows the medical personnel to load and unload the ambulance at the touch of a finger. This will help eliminate injuries to ambulance personnel by not having to lift patients anymore into the ambulance. Members went through the proper loading and unloading of the cot as well as cot failure scenarios. The addition of this system not only to the new ambulance but also the back up ambulance will allow us to serve the public better and safer.
