On Monday, August 26th around 1:11 PM Epworth Ambulance and Fire were paged out for a motor vehicle accident involving 3 vehicles. According to The Dubuque County Sheriff's office, a vehicle traveling westbound on US Hwy 20 turned south to go on Swiss Valley Road when he hit a motorcycle that was eastbound on US Hwy 20. The motorcycle then hit a third vehicle that was stopped at the intersection. The driver of the motorcycle was taken by Epworth Ambulance to Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque and later airlifted to The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The drivers of the two other vehicles refused treatment at the scene. The fire department remained on the scene for over 2 hours, assisting with traffic control and cleaning up a fluid spill from the vehicles.
