The Epworth Community Volunteer Firemen held their annual appreciation party on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the Epworth Fire Station. The appreciation dinner is hosted by the President of our non-profit corporation, Lt. Brian McAuliffe, and honors the dedication and commitment of the members to our community. Members and spouses of the fire department, honorary/retired firefighters and spouses, city council members and rural board members were in attendance for the event. This year Jacob Reiff was awarded the 2025 firefighter of the year for his unselfish dedication and contributions to the department. Lt. Todd Kluesner was presented a retirement axe after retiring with 20 years of active service. Service awards were given to Assistant Chief Ronnie Kramer for 40 years of service and to Lieutenant Brian McAuliffe for 25 years of service. The attendees enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by Daryl Biechler and crew.
