The Epworth Fire Department conducted their monthly drill on Monday Night 8/21/2023. 20+ Members arrived at the station at 6:00pm and completed a thorough check of all EFD vehicles. Members of the EFD then toured Western Dubuque High School and conducted a walk through of the building. Members were able to view all the mechanical rooms, hallways, kitchen and all the area's affected by the construction at WDHS. Members preplanned in the event of a fire or EMS call at the high school and/or adjacent Industrial Tech building. To conclude the night members of the EFD completed a discussion with Sue Theisen, Athletic Trainer for Western Dubuque and her fall intern from Loras, Maria Klein. EFD members, trainers and WDHS Coaching Staff discussed scenarios, new protective equipment for athletes and other topics including heat related emergencies.
