At approximately 7:13am on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021 Epworth Fire Department was paged out by Dubuque County dispatch for a vehicle fire at Western Dubuque High School. Upon arrival, EFD personnel encountered a engine compartment fire on a Refuse Truck. Damage was limited to the vehicle due to the driver and a custodian at Western Dubuque HS deploying fire extinguishers on the engine compartment. Epworth Units stayed on the scene for a short time and returned back to service.
