The Epworth Community Fire Department was awarded a 2021 Dubuque Racing Association Grant that allowed for the purchase of firefighting equipment that will be used by firefighters at emergency scenes.

The new collapsible portable fire tank allows for tankers to drop water at fire scenes and return to a water source to refill. The new tank is larger and allows for faster turn around times for tanker shuttle operations. The DRA was instrumental in providing the majority of funding for the project.

The Dubuque Racing Association has awarded over $83,518.00 to the Epworth Community Fire Department over the past couple decades.

The Epworth Community Fire Department is the 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation that along with the City of Epworth Mayor and Council, governs the fire department and contracts with local townships and cities to provide fire and EMS service.
