The Epworth Community Volunteer Firemen will hold their 73th Annual Firemen’s Picnic on Friday, July 9th at the Epworth Fire Station. The event kicks off at 6pm and runs until midnight. There will be great food, cold refreshments, kid’s rides and activities as well as some wonderful local entertainment by Mississippi Band from 7P-10P. This family orientated event is the annual fund raising event that supports the operation of the volunteer fire department. We will have some music entertainment for the crowd and the children’s rides continue to be a crowd favorite. The main fund raising event has become the silent auction and we are in need of items. We are aware there are many worthy events and benefits competing for business and individual donations, so we appreciate anything you can do for the EFD. The department has been relying on this benefit for the past 72 years to assist in funding operations of the fire department. Past auctions were successful due to the wonderful woodworking and other donations and of course the generous crowd in attendance bidding on the items. Please consider a tax deductible donation to the EFD.
