On June 13th, 2021 Epworth FD Members as well as family members gathered at Coralville to honor retired EFD members who passed away over the past two years. Ike Berger, Ron Connolly, Marc Lahey and Clarence Urbain were recognized and their names were added to the Iowa Firefighters Association Memorial Wall in Coralville, IA. There was a record crowd on hand as the annual memorial service was cancelled last year due to COVID-19. Family members were able to announce the name of the firefighter and place a flower near their name on the wall. Other members were also able to attend the Candlelight Service on Saturday evening, June 12th.

The IFA Memorial Committee is to be commended for their hard work to put on such a wonderful service. Local members from the Dubuque Fire Pipes and Drums joined other pipers and drummers from around the state to perform at the ceremony. They did a fantastic job and can be proud of their performance. Always a perfect way to honor our deceased members with the selections they play.

Other members from Dubuque County who were honored at the memorial service include:
Asbury Fire Department: Chuck Uskavitch
Dyersville Fire Department: Bob Fitzgerald, Jim Meyer and Pat Scherrman
Dubuque Fire Department: Paul Andresen
Epworth Fire Department: Ike Berger, Ron Connolly, Marc Lahey and Clarence Urbain
Key West Fire Department: Bart Germaine
New Vienna Fire Department: Bob Engelken, Ed Lukan, Eddie Maiers
Sherrill Fire Department: Leon Brockman, Jim Dupont, Joe McPoland, Alvin Nemmers and Terrence Tigges
(my apologies if I inadvertently missed anyone).
