The new rescue equipment will be placed on fire engines that previously did not have the portable lighting capability. The DRA was instrumental in allowing the proper equipment to be purchased increasing firefighter safety and efficiency in dimly lit situations.

The remaining match was allocated from proceeds from the annual fund raising picnic that was held in July. Including this grant the Dubuque Racing Association has awarded over $74,683.00 to the Epworth Community Fire Department over the past thirteen years.
