On Monday, January 6th at 9:49 PM the Epworth Fire Department was paged for a mobile home fire at the Super 20 Mobile Home Park located at 14674 North Cascade Road Lot #18, in rural Dubuque. The occupants of the home were in the rear when they came out and noticed flames near the door and window of the trailer. Upon arrival of firefighters the fire appeared to be contained in some trash bins that were located near the entrance to the residence. Firefighters removed the trash bins and extinguished the fire. The fire did cause damage to the exterior of the residence, however the fire did not extend to the interior or below structural area of the home. No damage estimate is available at this point. Firefighters dealt with a temperature of 12 below zero and wind chills in the -20's. No injuries were reported. The fire cause is believed to have started in some discarded electrical equipment that was in the trash cans and has been ruled accidental. The department was assisted at the scene by the Dubuque County Sheriffs Office and the Iowa State Patrol. Firefighters remained on scene for about 30 minutes.
