The Epworth Fire Department was paged out on September 27th at 1951 hours for a farm building on fire at the Dan Gotto farm, 24651 Dyersville East Road. It was a vacant, steel over wood frame building, approximately 24x40 in size.
18 members of the Epworth Fire department responded to the fire. While enroute, Epworth command requested that the Farley fire department be paged out for a mutual aid tanker. Fire crews made an initial attack with two 1 3/4" hand lines. The steel had to be removed from the building to help crews reach the fire. Crews were on scene for 2 hours. No one was injured.
