| The Epworth Fire Department was paged out by the Dubuque County E911 Communications Center for a report of a 2 car M.V.C. in front of the Quick-N-Handi in Epworth at 5:00 PM on December 12th. It appears that a truck heading south on Center Avenue slid into a car heading north. The road was 100 percent snow and iced covered as temperatures hovered around 10 degrees with a wind chill at -15 below zero. The driver of the car was transported to Mercy Health Center in Dubuque with minor injuries. The name and condition of the driver are not being released. The driver of the truck was uninjured and refused treatment. No one else was in either vehicle. Crews were on scene for about 45 minutes. Firefighters were assisted on scene by the Iowa State Patrol and the Dubuque County Sheriffs Department. |
