| At 6:00 AM on Friday September 3rd, The Epworth Fire Department was paged out by the Dubuque County E911 Communications Center for a barn on fire at the Joe and Lori Zalaznik farm. The farm is located at 24356 Kidder Road in rural Epworth. 20 members of the fire department responded to the call. Mutual aid for tankers from the Farley, Centralia-Peosta and Dyersville Fire Departments were requested. The first Epworth unit on scene reported that it was a skid steer on fire inside the barn, and not the barn. Crews were able to quickly put out the skid steer fire and the mutual aid tankers were cancelled. No one was injured and crews were on scene for about 30 minutes. |
